I am feeling discouraged today as my life feels at a standstill. I am trying to push myself and encourage myself that things will soon turn around . But when? Will it ever? Should I just sit back and take a break or keep pushing along? Maybe it is just the day , the week, or month….. yeah that seems it , it is the month. this whole month has been nothing but disappointments and I understand life is full of them , but when is it enough? I write , I photograph, I do social Media, I am doing everything I THINK  I am supposed to be doing but have not had any results. I do not expect things to happen over night, but a little something would be nice.  Well my friends I feel a little better writing it down and reading it out loud. Sometimes it is good to just write what is on your mind at the particular moment and just get it off your chest. That is hat I needed to do.

Places of Beauty

We would all to be able to travel, especially if we are photographers. BUT where would you go? If you are into landscapes than I have a few places that you just might be interested in visiting. These places are beyond beautiful and there beauty just dances in front of a lens. The people who took these photographs are an inspiration to me and I hope they inspire you as well.

Torres del Paine Chile-The park averages 150,000 visitors per year. There are beautiful breathtaking peaks, glaciers. The water is sparkling beautiful with a lovely shade of blue. The weather could be quite iffy so bring warm and cold wear.

Alaska- is another breathtaking place to capture beautiful images of landscapes, mountains, and wildlife, etc. There is plenty of wildlife so you have variety. It has 2.47 million acres of wilderness so snap away my friends.

White sands, New Mexico- is another beauty. The desert glows againsts the sky. People say the best time to go is when there is going to be a full moon. It truly is gorgeous, you will not regret visiting .

Haleakala National Park, Hawaii, will put you in a state of awe. The sky is dazzling a dancing with stars as far as the eye can see. This place ( with a camping permit ) is the best place for astral shooting due to zero light pollution.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona-This photograph says it all. The beauty of this place is just amazing especially when the sunlight shines down into the canyon. they do give tours so if I was you I would get up and go and adventure.

Havana, Cuba- Photographers do say that Havana is every photographers dream. My husband is from Havana and is always telling me how beautiful it is there, but you have to do you research to be able to go there. There is so much color and so much life . A great place for wonderful portraits of dancers and no matter where you turn you are going to see a 57 chevy!

Fairbanks, Alaska- We photographers can all agree that the Aurora Borealis is something beautiful and spectacular that every photographer should capture. Fairbanks is one of the best places to capture the Aurora lights that dance so gracefully in the Alaskan skies. The best times to capture the Aurora lights are between late August and April.

Central Park, New York City- The Kwanzan cherry trees are breathtaking in Spring. There are over 21,000 trees in over 30 families. Central Park in a natures lover’s dream. Around fall the colors are spectacular and vibrant.

Tikal , Guatemala- This beautiful photograph says it all. Tikal National Park covers 222 square miles so you have to plenty to snap away at. It is the largest remaining site of Pre-Columbian Civilization. Come on now who would not want to visit this place!? You have beautiful mountains and beautiful scenery.

The Pillars, Tasmania- This image was shot by Grant Dixon , The cliffs are an amazing site to see. If you like to travel and you are not afraid of heights like I am, I recommend you visit this spectacular site. Such a wonderful and amazing place and beautiful capture.

The Alps, Switzerland- If you are adventurous than you would love the Alps in Switzerland. From 13,661 feet high you have views to the French, Italian, and Swiss Alps. It is beautiful but very cold.

Grand Canyon, Arizona- This beautiful enormous canyon has so much to offer to photographers. most of the Grand Canyon is wilderness, so if you love the wilderness and want to take some breathtaking photographs, than this is where you can get them.

Foap photography

20140610_062950 (1)  FOAP.com , is a site where amateurs can sell images both editorial and commercial. FOAP has been featured on ABC , NBS, and a few other news stations. I love this site because amatuers  have a chance to show off their photography skills and earn some extra income as well. I have been a FOAP user since 2014 and I love it! It will not make you a millionaire but it is fun. You make five dollars per every photo you sell but you can always make more! FOAP also has contest that they call MISSIONS. Mission are run by companies that are looking for photos for advertising their poduct. You can win anywhere from $100.00 to anywhere over a $1000.00 if your photo wins. Now do not get me wrong here, you are not just going to jump on FOAP and sell an image right off the bat , but after a little bit of time you will start selling. Some do better than others but that is life. You can only use FOAP through a smart phone though. You can not upload images through the computer , just a smart phone. You download FOAP at the app store or googleplay   in your phone and you set up your username and paypal account. The whole purpose of FOAP is realistic images. You see something you like ,snap a photo, upload and your done. Some companies want to be able to have a photo with a real feel to it not something that was set up .

How to buy images from FOAP market

Companies or even just regular people who are interested in a  screensaver set up a FOAP account at FOAP.com on their computers. You can not upload your images via computer but you buy the images via computer. Foap market will come up after you type in FOAP.com. If you or a company is looking for a particular image that they have in mind  you type in TAG words to help you narrow the search down to your likings. Otherwise you will be there for days searching millions of images . You or a company buys the image at $10.00 , FOAP gets $5.00 and the photographer gets the other $5.00. If you know someone in particular that has a FOAP account and you want to buy an image from them specifically , you can type in that persons FOAP username in the search engine and their portfolio comes up.  It is as simple as that.

Want to sell images and make a few dollars?

Go to you  app store or googleplay app and type in FOAP. A blue camera will pop up and it will say “sell your photos” . Install the app and VOILA!! FOAP is for everyone from everywhere. It is for all around the world and it is fun and exciting as well as entertaining. Hey you never know , you just might see one of your images on a commercial or in a magazine. Think at how exciting that would be to show friends and family!

How does it work?

It is so simple that my 5-year-old daughter can do it! Like  I said early you go to your app store or googleplay app on your smart phone, you enter all the information , which is not that much, and you start taking photos. You can use your camera and then download your images from the camera on to your phone , or you can just start snapping away with your phone! After you upload your photo to FOAP it goes through a review process where 5 people vote on your image. If you get a 2.6 or higher your photo gets published onto FOAP where companies and others can see it. You can upload as many images as you want. You photo goes through two review processes so do not feel beat down if your photo goes in the first time but gets booted out the second time. Other ‘FOAPERS’ as we call them vote your images in or out so do not feel discouraged if your image does not make it through. Just keep putting it through, because the first 5 people who voted for you image the first time most likely will not be the same 5 people to vote it through the second time you  upload it. Remember FOAP is supposed to be fun , it is not a competition . Although some think it is. Each photo you sell can be sold over and over again. Just remember that when someone buys your photo they can use it over and over again but you only make 5 dollars off that photo and that is when it is sold to that buyer. You do not get 5 dollars each time that buyer uses it. When your image sells it goes into your FOAP account under your username. You click on your username ,scroll down to ” your sales” and see how much you have made. If you want to “cash out” you can whenever you like. Just make sure you have a ” paypal” account set up because that is where your money goes after you “cash out” .  I hope I hit a happy nerve to make you a “FOAPER” . The idea is to have fun and capture great, fun, spontaneous images and make a few dollars off of them. I hope you enjoy photography as much as I do. NOW GO GET SOME AWESOME PHOTOS A SELL AWAY MY FRIENDS!

If you would like to check out my portfolio to see what kind of images get uploaded to FOAP , go to FOAP.COM and type in peanut1010 or consphotography and my portfolios will pop right up. HAPPY FOAPING TO ALL!!

A few tips on how to photograph a beautiful landscape

20140605_083757~2   Landscapes are the most popular amongst the photography world! Here are a few tips that will help you achieve that beautiful landscape that you always wanted to capture and share with the world.

1. Think about where you are going to capture you image. That does not mean that every time you go out you have to plan ahead where you are going to go. Sometimes it is good to just get in the car and venture off , sometimes you wind up finding a beautiful landscape that has been hiding deep in the woods somewhere. BUT most of the time you should map out where you are going to go so you can figure the elevations and where you want to stand and at what angles so you can get the best out of that shot.

2. Make sure you know the area and where exactly the sun will rise and set. Make sure you know the suns position at the time you are going to photograph that landscape.

3. Make sure you have a focal point. You want to have a focal point so your audience knows what your main focus was for that shot. Too much in your image can confuse your audience and take away from what you were capturing.

4. Make sure you horizon is STRAIGHT. I can not tell you how many time I have seen beautiful picture of landscapes and the horizon was off. It take away from the image and all your audience can focus on is how off your horizon was. Trust me, a straight horizon make the image that much more spectacular.

5.  Do not just drive up to your point of interest. It is okay to take a few shots from the car but get out and venture off. You will be amazed at just how much a couple of steps can change your image. Walk to higher a viewpoint if you can . Elevation can change and even improve your image.

6. A little while after sunrise and a little time before sunset is the best times to take landscape shots. The colors are beautiful and spectacular. Try to steer clear of cloudy days.

Take a few practice shots to see of you are in the best spot. Move around a little. Move to a higher viewpoint, get lower to the ground. See where and at what position gives you that wow image. Look for that main focal point and stick to it. If you have mountains in your landscape , look at where the sun is at that moment and watch for shadows. Just try remember , a straight horizon is a big part of you shot. keep it clean and have a great adventure!

If anyone disagrees with anything that I have said , please please feel free to comment. If you can think of anything to help with landscapes, comment. I know there is so much more to capturing a beautiful landscape. I would love to hear from everyone.
